Can I have more than 10 people on my team?
Yes. We've
set a goal for you to try to reach 10 members as the minimum number of participants for your team. We
welcome you to encourage more people than that to join your team!
As a team captain, do I register my whole team?
No. All you need to do is create a team and register yourself/family
and then each of your team members/families register themselves under your team name.
Do I need to know everyone who will participate on my team before
I can create a team?
No. Create
your team as soon as possible and then use it to help you solicit your friends and family to join you.
Who needs to register for the event?
Anyone who plans to be at the park on event day needs to register. Even
if you are not participating in the walk, but plan to be there for the festival, you must register for the event. You
can register online, or print out a registration form from the facts and forms page (click here) and mail it in with a check to the address on the form.
What if I have a child under 3 who is participating in the event?
This year, we have
set up our online registration to accept family registrations. When you select this category to register, you will have
an option to select the number of children under 3 participating as well as select a T-shirt for them.
What is included with my registration fee?
Everything! You will receive a T-shirt upon checking into the event
along with a wristband. The wristband will be your ticket to participate in all the events in addition to be your ticket
for food and drink.
What will I have to pay for at the event?
There will be several raffles that will be held at the event and if you
wish to participate you will need to purchase tickets or "chances" depending on the type of raffle. In addition,
there will be a few booths with goods for sale
What if I cannot participate on the day, but want to support the
event, should I register anyway?
Yes you can! New this year is an option to register as a "virtual
walker". If you would like to help fundraise for the event and/or have a team you'd like to join,
but cannot participate, please consider registering as a virtual walker. Your registration, as well as all the fundraising
you do will contribute to you or your team's goals and will go towards earning prizes.
How can I support the event without becoming a "virtual walker"?
Please consider making a donation to the walk. You can do so
through a specific team, or through the main butterfly walk fundraising website at www.active.com/donate/2010Butterflywalk, or fill out a pledge coupon, write a check payable to CancerFree KIDS & mail to: CancerFree KIDS, attn. Butterfly Walk, P.O. Box 575, Loveland,
OH 45140
Can I submit
a registration form online through Active and then mail in a check?
No. If you
want to register online, you must be able to pay with a credit card. If you want to mail in a check for your registration,
then you must also fill out a registration form from printable forms page (click here) and mail it in with your check.
Are strollers
and/or wheelchairs permitted on the walk?
Yes. The entire
park is handicap accessible. The walk will be on a flat one mile paved walkway around the park. We encourage the
whole family to come out and enjoy this event.
Does the registration fee go towards the team goal amount?
Yes. The team goal amount is amount of money you think your team can
raise as donations from others sponsoring you to walk and also the registration dollars for all your members.
Can we create our own team T-shirts or should we wear the
event t-shirt on the day of the walk?
We would love for everyone to wear the event t-shirt on the day of
the walk - but we also encourage you to show your team spirit and unity in any way you like. Several teams had their
own t-shirts last year and it was awesome to see how creative and inspirational they were. So please feel free to
create your own!
